COVID Risk Virtually Non-Existent for 18 and Under.

 

We all know that children are virtually immune to SARS-CoV-2. In fact, current data from Stasta says that children under the age of 18 only account for 0.05% of deaths in the U.S (or 1/2000). As it turns out, new data shows that the threat might be even lower than previously thought.

 

According to the study, children 18 and under have a 99.995% survival rate when it comes to COVID-19. To put that into perspective, 324 children have died from coronavirus since the pandemic began 18 months ago. That’s an average of 216 per year. Meanwhile, it’s estimated that about 1,800 children will die from cancer this year – in the U.S. alone. Over 12,000 die from accidents. During the 2018-2019 flu season, there were 186 pediatric deaths attributed to influenza.

 

Now, I am certainly not discounting the death of even one human being, much less an innocent child. But it’s important that we analyze the data as we make decisions about our children and health policies. As the effort to vaccinate children reaches a fevered pitch, let’s take a look at what this new research means.
